Hi folks,

Breakfast with Santa was such a huge success last year, we're making it an annual event. The funds raised this year will go toward the entire baseball program, so we're excited to have participation from all baseball families! Please pick a category from the list below (remembering that since we've already done this, it'll be much easier this year), and let us know. We'll meet as soon as all categories have a chair.

  • Advertising (Due date for the monthly school newsletter is 11/9)

  • Procurement

  • Ticket Sales

  • Kitchen

  • Raffle

  • Decorations

We promise a fun time for all! We're looking forward to hearing from all of you very soon.

11/4/07:

Hello everyone,

We are in need of some help getting the other half of the cage ceiling painted on Saturday the 17th (starting at 8:00) and possibly Sunday (if we weren't able to finish).  Matt Scott is helping to coordinate the effort.  It is going to take 2-3 sprayers and a couple of people per sprayer (5 or 6 people).  If you have one and/or are able to help, please send me a quick email.  Over the past year, the cages have really been restored.  This year we have new nets, L-screens, and possibly new turf flooring to install.  We just need to get the paint up before we can proceed.  All workers will be compensated with pizza and a high five.

Thanks for all you do (we have made amazing progress)

Steve

10/26/07:

Hi Everyone...I think by now most of the prospective baseball players should have their Poinsettia Packets.  If not please encourage them to touch base with Coach Antich.  Couple of reminders/follow-ups...

Please remind the players to turn in their orders as they receive them to the big GREEN box at the main office marked Poinsettia.  I will be checking the box every few days.  The reason for this is so that we can give the grower an idea of quantities and colors.

An option for all families...if you prefer not to sell Poinsettia, you may make a donation directly to the Westview Baseball Program.  Suggested amount is $150-$200.

Deadline for orders to be in is Thursday, November 15th.

Questions???  Please feel free to email me at trish10s@comcast.net

Thanks....Trish Evola

10/16/07:

11/19/06: Hello everyone. Hopefully life is treating you well as we approach the holiday season. I just wanted to send out a quick email to push our fence sign program. We currently have 12 commitments with another 9 or so hopefuls. Laurie Fitterer and Debbie Coghlan have done a great job getting us started but we need everyone to pitch in with business names that might be willing to support our program as we try and improve our facility.  If we can get 45 signs sold, we will get a large break on the production costs! I will be working closely with Laurie and Debbie and really hope that we can pull this off. With your help, this fence sign program can be successful; in terms of valuable income and showing the spirit of Westview Baseball!

On another note, we have our two new tunnel nets but I was hoping that we could paint the ceiling white before putting them up. This would help brighten up the hitting area. In order to do this, Laurie Fitterer was going to try and get the paint donated. We would probably need as many sprayers as possible to get this done in a day. If you have a sprayer or would like to help, drop me an email and let me know of a weekend in the near future that works for you.  Keep in mind that after we paint, we will need another group to put the nets up.

As far as workouts go, your kids should be playing catch and staying in shape. We will begin team workouts after Christmas break with pitchers and catchers meeting twice a week and hitting/catch/and conditioning happening 2 or 3 times a week. Until then, your kid can lift at Westview three days a week or participate in another training program if they aren't playing a winter sport.

Thanks so much for your help and support,

Steve Antich

11/12/06:  Here is information about the Breakfast with Santa event.

We need everyone's help, especially the baseball boys, in setting up Rock Creek Church Friday night Dec. 8th at 6:00 PM (moving tables, chairs...etc.).

We are trying to get flyers out to the elementary schools that feed into Westview as well as get the word spread at Westview, Mrs. DeGarmo is going to visit Westview a few times at lunches and bring some flyers. If you would like some additional copies (for your church, preschool, neighbors, etc.) CLICK HERE for the registration form.

We need business donations for our gift baskets that we are going to raffle off. The themes are Movie Night, Bath/relaxation, Coffee, Candy, Kids, Sports, and any Gift Certificates for food and/or beauty services would be nice to add to any of these or on their own.

Debi Coghlan is putting together the baskets, she just needs the items by Nov. 22nd! Just bring them by her work (Postal Works) or her house.

Colleen and Jennifer are going around Bethany Village and asking for donations and Debi Coghlan is asking around at Somerset plaza. Please contact Debi Coghlan (momcoghlan@verizon.net) with the names of businesses you plan to get donations from so we don't hit them twice (or more).

I have a business donation letter available (CLICK HERE to download the business donation letter). If you know you want something specific then please ask for it, sometimes that is easier than asking for anything!

Email me if you need anything else. Thanks for your support, we are well on our way with this breakfast, let's keep things moving along. Sincerely, Kristin Antich

10/10/06:  The Poinsettia fundraising packets will go home with the boys on Thurs. Oct. 12 (after the meeting at 2:40 in RM S121).  The packet is self explanatory, just sell, sell, sell! I've heard this has been a huge fundraiser in the past. Thanks Debbie Bishop! Let's make this a record year.  Coach just spent over $3,000 on trip deposits and $1200 for supplies and equipment for the field work so we need to replenish this account and pay for some new uniforms!

ALL INTERESTED IN FUNDRAISING-We are going to meet at the Bethany Godfathers on Tues. Oct. 24th at 5:30. I will have some business letters that should go out to any or all of the businesses) / people you know.  I will also have a list of the ideas we want to implement as well as possible event coordinators. Following is a list of fundraiser that will go toward the trip to Orlando and those that will go to the general account. General Acct.: Poinsettias (Debbie Bishop), Team poster, Golf tournament, Wildcat baseball camp (youth camp), merchandise sales (Debi Coughlin has already contributed a lot of time and effort and will have some money to deposit soon)!

Orlando Trip: (possible fundraisers)-Breakfast with Santa and raffle baskets-(Debi Coughlin, Kathleen DeGarmo, Kristin Antich), Spaghetti dinner/Bingo (Sharon & Jeff Egger, Ed Reese), Selling roses for Valentines Day (Linda Cech, Kristin Antich), Corsages for Jan. dance (Debi Coughlin?), Business donation letters (Kristin will make the letters), Flamingos (Kristin Antich, Debbie Bishop). **Other possibilities Texas Hold-Em or Dodge Ball tournament (but we don't know about liability issues)

We'll need lots of help with all of these, we will talk more about them at pizza on the 24th. The names listed here are not permanent and does not mean we don't need help!! So, please don't take offense if your name is or isn't on here!:) Email me your questions or concerns...if you just can't hold them until the 24th. Thanks you guys are the best! Sincerely, Kristin Antich

10/9/06: A HUGE THANK YOU to all the parents and players who came out to help with the work on the field. We had over 20 people there! We got a lot accomplished; we raised home plate (on both fields), weeded, mowed, aerated and seeded both infields and both tunnel nets came down to be replaced. It's great to be at a place where so many people are willing to help. GO WILDCATS! Sincerely, Coach Antich

10/5/06: Sat. Oct. 7th is the field day; 9:00 AM at Westview, bring your wheel barrows, shovels and mowers (if possible). Please respond if you are planning on coming. So far I have; Rich, Brent, David Tim, & Julian.

****A HUGE SORRY to all of the parents who went to Elmers on Wed. night for the fundraising meeting. I changed times/dates too many times and confused myself. I will be in Beaverton on Thurs. night, as I have an Open House and will be able to meet to debrief on Thurs. at 7:15 for those that can make it. I think Debbie Bishop has some information on the poinsettia sales we want to start. Obviously I understand if you can't make it. Let me know if you can come.

9/21/06: There will be a Westview Baseball meeting Thursday, 9/21 at 6:30pm in the Westview Student Center.
