Evaluations

Westview JBO conducts Federal tryouts and general evaluations on separate weekends.  The Federal tryouts are for players with advanced skills who want to play many games and compete at the highest level.  All players may attend the Federal tryouts, which are held the weekend before the general evaluations.  Players who are not selected for the Federal team, must participate in the general evaluations also, which are designed to divide the players into American and National teams and then divide teams in each division as evenly as possible.  Neutral evaluators are used at the evaluations.

Some of the tryouts and evaluations will have staggered start times.  All players will be notified by email with their exact times during the week before the event.

Midget Federal Tryouts

Tryouts will consist of drills covering fielding (outfield and infield) and hitting.  Players may also be evaluated for pitching and catching.

Westview likely will not field a Midget Federal team this year.  All Midget players should attend  the General Evaluations on March 3 and 4. Evaluators and board members will determine at that time whether the league can field a Federal team.  If not, players will be placed on American and National teams.
